Sticky Baked French Toast Casserole

Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 8 eggs
  • lbs french bread day old, cut into 1 in cubes

Honey glaze

  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup honey

Instructions
 

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk the eggs until mixed well. Add the milk, cream, vanilla, maple syrup, and cinnamon. Add the bread, making sure cube is well soaked. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours, but can be left overnight.
  • In a saucepan melt butter, brown sugar, and honey together and bring to a boil. Pour into the bottom of a 9 x 13 inch baking dish and set aside.
  • Preheat oven to 350F or gas mark 4. Pour the bread mixture over the brown sugar sauce. Bake for 45 minutes or until the top of the french toast bake is golden brown. Place a serving platter on top of the baking dish and invert to serve or invert once you have scooped it out of the baking dish if desired.
