  • Glass container
  • Fine mesh sieve optional

Ingredients
 
 

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • ½ cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 tablespoon bourbon

Instructions
 

  • In a saucepan heat all of the ingredients over medium high heat. Bring to a boil and reduce heat to medium.
  • Continue to cook, stirring frequently to prevent burning, until the syrup has reduced by half. The syrup should coat the back of a spoon.
  • If you want a smooth sauce strain the syrup through a fine mesh sieve.
  • Pour into an airtight jar such as a mason jar.
