Preheat the oven to 325F, 165C, or gas mark 3.
Combine the honey and melted butter and set aside.

Place the ham cut side down in the roasting pan, cover with foil, add 1 cup of water and bake for 1 hour.
8 pounds ham, 1 cup water
Remove the ham from the oven and turn it on its side. Pour half of the honey onto the ham making sure it gets in-between the slices, put the ham back down with the cut side down and cook for another 20 minutes.
While the ham is cooking combine all of the sugar crust ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix.
1 cup sugar, ½ cup brown sugar, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon onion powder, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1 teaspoon smoked paprika, ½ teaspoon clove
Remove the ham from the oven and place it back on its side and repeat the process the with remaining honey. Then pack all of the crust around the outside of the ham. Place the ham cut side down and cook for another 5 minutes. Remove the ham from the roasting pan and place it on a platter.
If you would like a flavorful glaze/sauce, then place the liquid from the roasting pan into a saucepan and cook on medium high heat until it has reduced by half.
