What are warming spices?
There are two categories of spices called warming and cooling spices. They are named like that because of the feeling you get in your mouth. Cooling spices tend to leave your mouth tingly, think of flavors like mint, fennel, and cumin. Warming spices are like getting a big hug. The holiday spices generally fit into this category like cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. These are also great spices for coffee and hot cocoa.
